Husband Leaves Pregnant Wife for Influencer Until Parents Deliver Wedding Photo Gift
“Brielle’s public page,” Margot said, turning her screen so I could see. “She posted a countdown timer. It says ‘Wedding Day Livestream: Live from the Traverse City Beach Dock at two o’clock tomorrow.'”
I leaned over her shoulder, my eyes scanning the bright, colorful graphics on the small screen.
There were photos of Brielle in a white fitness outfit, holding a matching water bottle, with Evan smiling behind her in a light linen suit.
“Everyone at school is sharing it,” Margot whispered. “They’re saying Dad is marrying a celebrity.”
“She isn’t a celebrity, Margot,” I said, rubbing the lower back where the baby was pressing hard. “She is just someone who takes pictures of herself.”
“Are you going to watch it?” Margot asked.
“Your grandmother and I are going to watch,” I said.
“Will it make you sad?” Margot asked, her eyes searching my face for any sign of tears.
“No,” I said, and for the first time in months, I meant it. “It won’t make me sad at all.”
Tilly walked into the kitchen, her steps slow on the creaking floorboards. She looked at Margot’s screen, then back at me.
