Husband Leaves Pregnant Wife for Influencer Until Parents Deliver Wedding Photo Gift

“Margot says they are livestreaming it,” I said. “For her followers.”

Tilly stopped the cart next to the glass display cases of silver-plated baby gifts.

She did not look at the baby spoons or the pewter cups. Instead, she reached out and picked up a heavy, high-quality silver photo frame from the top shelf, turning it over to inspect the black velvet backing.

“This is eighty-five dollars,” I said, looking at the small price tag dangling from the corner. “We don’t need something this expensive, Tilly.”

“It is sturdy,” Tilly said, placing it gently into the cart next to a pack of cotton diapers. “We have a delivery to make together on the fifteenth of January, and it needs to look like a proper gift.”

“What are we putting in it?” I asked.

Tilly did not answer right away.

She began walking toward the cash register, her steps slow but deliberate as she carried the frame wrapped in tissue paper.

“We have one more thing to send before all of this is final,” she said.

I watched her walk toward the front of the store, her hand resting on the metal cart to steady her gait.
