“We are going to file our own motion by Friday morning,” Vance said, tapping his finger on the mahogany table. “We are going to demand a full audit of all business accounts associated with your husband.”
“What do you expect to find?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
Vance looked at Norman again, a silent understanding passing between them that I could not yet decipher. The two men had clearly spoken before this meeting, and there was a gravity in their silence that made me uneasy.
“We will know more once the bank records are subpoenaed,” Vance said. “For now, we are going to make sure he cannot hide behind his corporate filings.”
Norman stood up and offered his hand to the attorney, their grip firm and brief.
“Thank you, David,” Norman said. “We will be waiting for the draft.”
