“The court will order full restitution as part of his sentence,” Marcus said. “But that brings us to the choice you have to make this morning, Lily. The district attorney wants to know if you intend to pursue maximum civil restitution against Samuel’s personal estate.”
“Explain that to me, Marcus.”
Marcus leaned back, his chair creaking. “It means we go after his personal property. He still owns a one-third interest in his mother’s old house on the creek, and he has a small retirement account from his years at the insurance agency. We can sue him for every dime of the remaining three hundred and fifty-eight thousand dollars he siphoned into Lisa’s business.”
