My Husband Sold My Two Million Dollar Land For Five Dollars To His Girlfriend

“We will do it right now,” I said, adjusting my silver belt buckle.

Elena walked to the window, her brow furrowed as she looked out toward my truck.

“Did Samuel have your truck keys last week, Lily?” Elena asked, her voice dropping into a quiet, suspicious tone.

“He said he needed to move it to get the lawnmower out of the shed,” I said. “Why?”

“I saw him crouching near the front bumper on Thursday,” Elena said. “He looked like he was working on something underneath the frame.”

She walked out of the office and down the concrete aisle of the barn, her boots clicking against the floor. I followed her out to the driveway where my truck sat parked in the shade.

Elena knelt in the red dirt, her knees sinking into the dust as she reached up under the front wheel well.

“There is something here,” Elena said, her fingers searching the metal frame.

She pulled her hand back, her fingers holding a small, black plastic box about the size of a matchbox.

The tiny black magnet of the tracker fell from my truck frame into the red dirt.
