Redstone Construction CEO Learns About Blue Envelope in Hospital Recovery Room

“My partner, Brandon, has spent thirty years building Redstone’s reputation,” I said. “A public trial will make every client we have wonder if we are stable enough to finish their projects.”

“The company will survive, Robert,” Brandon said from his chair near the door. “We have the RiNo project ninety percent framed. The structural work is done.”

“The prosecutor needs to know our position,” I said, turning back to Miller. “If we agree to the plea, does Mercer go to prison?”

“He does,” Miller said. “But his sentence would be reduced to twelve years.”

“He was the one who held the scalpel,” Mia said. “He knew what he was doing to my father.”

The room went quiet, save for the hum of the office server in the corner.

“I want the law to take its course,” I said. “No deals to make it easier for them.”

Miller nodded, her pen writing a quick note on the yellow legal pad in front of her.

“It will be a hard road, Mr. Brennan,” she said.
