Redstone Construction CEO Learns About Blue Envelope in Hospital Recovery Room

The hospital required a complete update of all our active policies.

Below that, she had written the name of our insurance representative at Redstone, followed by a question mark.

I set the brochure down exactly where I found it, aligning its edge with the grain of the granite.

At nine the next morning, I walked into the Redstone Building Corporation offices in the River North Art District. The low hum of the main server room was the only sound in the hallway as I made my way to the corner office.

Brandon Walsh, my partner of twelve years, was at his desk, tapping a heavy brass pen against his blotter.

“You look like hell, Robert,” he said, not pausing his pen. “You should be at home.”

“I need you to pull the group health file,” I said, leaning against the doorframe to take the pressure off my stitches. “The key-man policy and my personal lines.”

Brandon stopped tapping the pen, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked at me. “The carrier sent the annual renewal last month. We did not change anything.”
