“Dr. Mercer is a prominent surgeon,” Nicole said, turning her attention to Mia. “Your father is just a little restless because he hasn’t been back to the RiNo site full-time. Speaking of which, Mia, we need to talk about the housing deposit for your sophomore year.”
Mia brightened immediately, her defensive tone vanishing. “The sophomore suites are filling up fast. The university needs the first payment by Friday.”
