Redstone Construction CEO Learns About Blue Envelope in Hospital Recovery Room
“She has that heavy chemistry load,” Nicole said. She twisted her emerald ring twice around her finger. “I told her I would transfer the funds from our joint account this afternoon so she doesn’t have to worry about it.”
“I can take care of that from the office,” I said.
“No need,” she said, her smile returning quickly. “I already initiated the transfer.”
“What is the course name?” I asked.
“Organic Chemistry,” Nicole replied, pouring herself a cup of green tea. “She was complaining about the lab fees last week. She feels a lot of pressure to keep her grades up, Robert. She wants to make you proud.”
“She always makes me proud,” I said.
Nicole reached into her apron pocket and pulled out a heavy cream-colored envelope, sliding it across the polished marble toward me.
“What is this?” I asked, setting my fork down.
“A surprise,” she said.
I opened the envelope and pulled out a high-gloss printed card. The gold foil lettering at the top read Las Ventanas al Paraiso, Cabo San Lucas. Beneath it, my name was printed alongside hers for a seven-night stay in an oceanfront villa.
