Redstone Construction CEO Learns About Blue Envelope in Hospital Recovery Room

I watched Brandon present the clipboard, his voice carrying slightly through the open door before he stepped inside. He spoke in the flat, professional tone of a man who spent his life answering service calls, never looking at the security cameras mounted in the corners of the ceiling.

The receptionist pointed toward the elevators at the back of the hall. Brandon nodded once, signed a logbook on the counter, and walked toward the brass elevator doors with the slow, unhurried stride of a veteran utility worker.

I waited in the front seat, my fingers tapping against the plastic dashboard. The minutes on the digital clock seemed to stretch, each transition of the numbers taking hours.

A delivery truck pulled up behind us, its diesel engine idling with a heavy, rhythmic vibration that shook the steering wheel. I kept my eyes on the lobby entrance, watching a couple in expensive winter coats walk out toward a waiting town car.

My phone remained silent in my pocket. We had agreed on no direct communication while Brandon was inside the building, leaving Vance’s team to monitor the local radio frequencies from their own vehicle parked two blocks away.
