Redstone Construction CEO Learns About Blue Envelope in Hospital Recovery Room
At twenty past two, the elevator doors in the lobby slid open again. Brandon stepped out, his yellow toolbox swinging slightly at his side as he walked toward the receptionist desk.
He handed back a plastic visitor badge, said something that made the young man nod, and walked out into the cold afternoon air. He did not look at me as he opened the driver side door and threw his toolbox onto the floor behind the seats.
“The junction box in his hall was unlocked,” Brandon said, keying the ignition. The engine flared to life with a quiet hum. “I put the first mic inside the air return vent near the coat closet. The lens is in the decorative molding above the television.”
“Did you see anyone?” I asked.
“Just a cleaning lady two doors down,” Brandon said, shifting the van into drive. “The apartment was empty. The surgeon has a three o’clock consult at the hospital, so we had a clear window.”
“Did the modules sync?”
“Vance’s tech confirmed the signal is clean,” Brandon said, turning the corner onto Speer Boulevard. “Now we wait for the sun to go down.”
