He took off his wire-rimmed glasses and began to clean them with a small grey silk cloth he kept in his vest pocket.

“He believes the money went through at nine this morning,” Avery said, his eyes narrowing slightly behind his polished lenses. “The wire confirmation was scheduled to send automatically.”
