Boston Mother Cancels Twenty Two Million Dollar Wedding Gift After Morning Betrayal

“Mother, please,” Michael said, his voice cracking as he reached for my hand. “We can fix this, I can make Thomas apologize, we can put this behind us and be a family again.”

“There is no family left here, Michael,” I said.

“You cannot do this to me,” Michael said, his apology turning into a desperate plea. “I am your only son, you cannot leave me with nothing because of a misunderstanding.”

“It was not a misunderstanding,” I said.

“It was a criminal act,” Avery said from the end of the table, his deep voice cutting through the room as he adjusted his glasses.

Victoria turned on her heel, her coat trailing behind her as she walked toward the dining room doorway.

“Come on, Thomas,” Victoria said, not looking back at her husband. “We are leaving.”

Her brother followed her without a word, his shoulders hunched as he avoided my gaze.

Michael stood by the table for a moment longer, his hand still reaching out toward me, waiting for some sign of softening.
