“They mentioned an administrative delay on the twenty-two million,” she said.
“They said the primary account was temporarily restricted,” she added.
“It is a significant sum, Victoria,” Avery said, his deep voice carrying a slow, measured weight.
“Large transfers require extensive verification protocols, especially during a holiday week,” he added.
“But surely the authorization was signed on Friday morning, as agreed,” Victoria said, her sweet tone sharpening.
