“Where do you want the physical copies kept?” Avery asked, looking over my shoulder.
“In your office safe,” I said. “And bring the tablet to my dining room tomorrow evening.”
“If Michael sees this, it will destroy him,” Avery said softly, his hand resting on the back of my chair.
“Michael destroyed his own future when he let that card leave his pocket,” I said.
“We still do not know if he knew what they planned to do with it,” Avery said.
“It does not matter,” I said. “The result is the same.”
I stood up, wrapping my wool coat tightly around my shoulders to block out the chill of the office air conditioning.
