Boston Mother Cancels Twenty Two Million Dollar Wedding Gift After Morning Betrayal

“She says she received an anonymous tip that you have been suffering from progressive neurological issues,” Avery said. He opened the folder to reveal a typed page. “She has details, Beatrice. She knows about your sudden absence from the pre-wedding dinner on Friday night.”

“I was at the wedding,” I said. “I sat in the front row. Everyone saw me.”

“The tip claims you were unable to attend without professional assistance,” Avery said, his voice dropping even lower. “She has a source claiming you wore a specialized wig to conceal the effects of a sudden medical episode.”

The room seemed to shrink. “They are calling me unstable, Avery, they want to force my hand.”

“If they publish this, the board will be forced to respond,” Avery said. “They cannot have a CEO accused of hiding a cognitive decline while managing a sixty-million-dollar portfolio.”

“They want me to release the twenty-two million to prove I am competent and generous,” I said. “Or they want to force me out entirely.”
