My Family Tried to Evict Me from the Craftsman House My Grandparents Left Me

“You forged her name?” Helen whispered, her fingers gripping the edge of the table so hard her knuckles turned white.

Ashley did not answer, her eyes fixed on the table as her face turned pale.

“And what about my savings?” I asked, looking directly at my father. “The eleven thousand four hundred dollars you froze?”

“We are keeping that,” Charles said, trying to claw back some shred of authority. “You owe the family for the maintenance on that house, and we will use those funds to pay off the interest on Ashley’s loan.”

“You cannot touch a single dollar of the trust’s operating funds,” Richard said, sliding a bank statement across the table. “The trust holds its own federal tax identification number and maintains separate accounts. Your freeze on Emily’s personal joint account has no legal effect on the trust’s assets.”

My father stared at the bank statement, his eyes scanning the numbers. The trust account held twenty-four thousand dollars, completely out of his reach.

“This is a conspiracy,” Charles said, his voice shaking. “You planned this from the start.”
