My Father Brought a Locksmith to Sell the Ranch I Bought

“Arthur is contesting the foreclosure sale,” Rachel said. “He is claiming the bank failed to notify the primary bidders of a clerical correction before the auction. He is also claiming a prior right of easement through your northern pasture.”
She tapped her finger on the blue paper.
“It is a stalling tactic,” she said. “But it is a legal one. The court has set a hearing date for February fifteen.”
“That is the ratification deadline,” I said.
“Exactly,” Rachel said. “If the injunction is still in place on the fifteenth, the title company will not issue the title insurance. The bank can void the sale, and the property goes back into the pool.”
I looked out the window at the gray brick wall of the building next door.
“How do we fight it?” I asked.
“We file a motion to dissolve the injunction,” Rachel said. “We bring the bank documents. We show the judge the forged transfer slip from your trust account. That will prove Arthur’s filing is built on bad faith and stolen funds.”
