Three Suitcases Left in the Rain and Nineteen Million Dollars in Cancun
I nodded, remembering the hot afternoon when my key would not turn in the front door. “Submit the file to the judge’s chambers under seal, Frank. I want everything ready before we step into that courtroom on Thursday.”
“Sable still believes this is a simple probate hearing to distribute the remains of the overdrawn business accounts,” Frank said.
“Let her think that,” I said.
Frank leaned forward, his desk chair creaking slightly in the quiet room. “If she suspects anything, she might try to empty the secondary accounts before the judge can freeze them.”
“She does not have the routing numbers,” I said. “Only you and I have access to those.”
“And the Cancun villa?” Frank asked, his hand moving toward his desk drawer.
“Keep the title where it is,” I said. “The safety deposit box is the only place she cannot reach.”
Frank nodded slowly, his fingers tapping the blue folders. “The court will require your physical presence to verify the signature on the primary trust document.”
“I will be there,” I said.
