“That record is currently locked for online viewing,” she said, looking up at me. “There is a pending scanned entry from October fourteenth, but the system shows it is held in the main archival queue for manual verification.”
“Can you print the indexing page?” I asked.
“The index shows a transfer of interest,” Martha said, her voice dropping to a helpful murmur. “But I cannot pull the image of the instrument itself until the supervisor signs off on the scanning batch tomorrow.”
“Who filed the instrument?” I asked.
Martha scrolled down. “The presenter was listed as Webb, initials M. W.”
I adjusted my wristwatch, straightening the black leather band against my skin. “Was there a second signature required for a transfer of interest on a joint tenancy?”
“Usually, yes,” Martha said, turning her screen slightly toward me. “But if the filing was indexed as a quitclaim, the system only requires the signature of the grantor to record the initial entry.”
